Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
This policy explains what ChopperRadar ("we," "us") collects when you use chopperradar.com and its alerts (the "Service"), how we use it, and your choices. ChopperRadar is operated by William Fitch.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your email address and your password. We store only a salted, one-way hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Consent records: the date you created your account and that you agreed to these policies and to receive ChopperRadar emails.
- A login cookie: one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Server logs: like most websites, our server records technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time. We use these logs to keep the Service running and secure.
- Payment information: if we offer paid plans, payments will be handled by a third-party processor. We will not receive or store your full card number.
The aircraft information shown on the Service comes from public broadcasts by aircraft, not from you.
2. How we use it
- to create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
- to run, maintain, and improve the Service and protect it from abuse;
- to send you ChopperRadar updates, new features, and offers, which you agreed to when you signed up;
- to send account and service notices, and to answer you when you write to us;
- to comply with the law.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service (such as our hosting provider, email provider, and, if we offer paid plans, our payment processor), only as needed for that work, or when the law requires it.
4. Your choices
- Emails: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to us.
- Access, correction, deletion: email jafo@chopperradar.com to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account. We will respond within 30 days.
- California residents have the right to know, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open and delete it within 30 days after you ask us to close it, except for records we must keep by law. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
6. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and limited access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, tell us and we will delete the account.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or on the Service before it takes effect.
9. Contact
